Next month, General Assembly in Melbourne will host a special panel of music industry experts who will discuss the growing between intersection between music and technology.

With digital technology forever changing the way consumers discover, interact with, and monetise music, those in the business of writing, performing, and producing music, have seen the traditional ecosystem permanently disrupted.

You’re invited to join the conversation among a vibrant panel of creatives and industry experts for a discussion on new opportunities emerging from technology and music’s perfect storm, and it’s absolutely free.

The panel will include Colin Blake, Head of Territory, Australia and New Zealand, at the ground-breaking global digital music service, Rdio, which is reinventing the way people discover, play and share music, allowing users to listen anywhere, anytime.

Patrick Nellestein, a Sydney-based composer and recording producer who is very active in a diverse range of creative projects, which include composing for TV, films, documentaries, and theatre.

Joshua Young is the founder of Motion Synth, which he publicly launched via crowdfunding in 2013, a unique musical instrument inspired by Young’s neuroscience background and his experience with the electronic scene of Berlin.

The lineup is rounded out by Paul Gildea, Senior Coordinator of Entertainment & Arts Management at the Australian Institute of Music. A 25-year member of Icehouse, Gildea was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2006.
