Most Mondays at the Old Bar are fairly mundane. And by that we mean Mondays at the Old Bar are Mundane Mondays, when they promise “babez, bandz and beerz”, including $15 jugs of Goat and tunes from local and international acts.

However, this Monday is going to be a little different. The folks at the beloved Melbourne venue have just announced what they’ve dubbed ‘A secret show with a mystery line up‘, which we’re guessing is precisely what it sounds like.

According to a Facebook event page for the show, “We will announce the bands on the day.” Who will it be? Well, like Queens of the Stone Age once said, no one knows, but knowing the Old Bar, it’s going to be a quality assortment of acts.

It’s certainly a novel concept for a venue to announce a secret show with a totally unknown lineup and just hope punters take a chance, which we highly recommend you do.

After all, you’re going to feel pretty silly when you miss out on a reunited Midnight Oil jamming with a resurrect Jimi Hendrix, aren’t you?*

*Ed note: Totally speculative. Tone Deaf is not aware whether or not the Old Bar does indeed have the ability to bring the dead back to life.
