Despite hopeful attempts to keep an institute of live music in Melbourne alive, we all must sadly face the facts – The Palace has gone, however, you now have a chance to keep the dream alive by taking home pieces of memorabilia from the inner-city house of music.
For one weekend only some of the crew from The Palace will be selling the venue’s private collection of posters, t-shirts, ticket stubs and other sorts of music miscellanea dating from 1993 through to 2014.
The guys will be hanging out at Melbourne CBD spot 1000 Pound Bend on 361 Little Lonsdale Street on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April from 11:00am to 5:00pm, with items being listed as cheap as $1.00.
In addition to this, there’ll also be a limited amount of goodies for sale from the St. Kilda venue too, this is a perfect and super rare opportunity to take home your own little piece of musical history.
The majority of the posters are in excellent condition, however some have small marks and tears (but hey, it gives it personality!) and are all labelled accordingly on the day. The t-shirts are brand new without tags.
The Palace have the full details of the two-day sale on their Facebook, and we can confirm that there are plenty of unframed posters that include Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds as well as mounted Queens of the Stone Age posters and even rare Iggy Pop t-shirts (hands off).
This sale serves as first come, first served, so don’t feel guilty for fighting dirty to ensure you get your desired piece of musical history.
