Metal usually gets a pretty bad wrap in the eyes of the general public, and unfortunately, this latest news report won’t help matters.
Eminent heavy metal news site, Metal Sucks! today breaks the shocking news that Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe has been arrested in Prague on manslaughter charges.
According to a Czech news report from Novinky, the metal singer was arrested over an incident at a Lamb of God gig in Prague from two years ago. At the concert, held on May 24 2010 at Prague’s Abaton club, an enthusiastic fan climbed onstage and allegedly got into a physical confrontation with Blythe. The man reportedly suffered injuries which later led to his death, for which the metal singer is being blamed.
The band, who are currently on a world tour in support of their latest studio album Resolution, arrived in the Czech Republic for a scheduled performance at Prague’s Rock Café with Skeletonwitch and All Shall Perish. Blythe was brought in for questioning by Prague police and as a result, the Rock Café gig had to be cancelled, with all touring commitments postponed until further notice.
Details are still vague at this point, but Metal Insider reportedly got in touch with the Lamb of God’s management company – Adrenaline PR – and were told that Blythe was “wrongfully accused,” adding that “lawyers are dealing with it, and we expect him to be fully exonerated.”
