It seems like the world is currently swept up in ABBA fever once again – even metal icons Metallica are revelling in the pure pop goodness.

The band took to the stage in Stockholm a few nights ago, paying homage to the Sweden natives with a rousing cover of the legendary hit ‘Dancing Queen’. The cover was fronted by Kirk Hammett and Rob Trujillo, as they turned the distortion down and the funk up, with Trujillo even lending his vocal abilities to the performance.

The band are currently embarking on their huge WorldWired tour, which they’ve been taking around Europe since the end of 2017 (there’s still no word on when the tour will head to Australia, unfortunately.) Hammett and Trujillo have been taking time out of the band’s set recently to take on covers of pop hits – they even managed to shred through a cover of A-ha’s ‘Take On Me’ while in Norway a recently.

Pop legends ABBA recently announced their comeback after a 35 year hiatus from making music, revealing that they’ll be releasing a new song this December. Unfortunately for fans wanting to catch them live, the song will debut in a hologram performance of the group, with band keeping up their promise to never perform together live again.
