Momma, the Brooklyn band making waves in indie-rock, have announced their debut Australian tour for January 2026.

Presented by Frontier Touring and Penny Drop, the tour will kick off at Brisbane’s Crowbar, before hitting Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory, and Melbourne’s Max Watts.

The band, led by Etta Friedman and Allegra Weingarter, have been an exciting voice in indie-rock, following the release of their album Welcome to My Blue Sky in April.

Like so many coming-of-age stories, the album takes place in a “parallel chaos” — a charmed and turbulent summer acting as a transformative moment in time.

Produced by bassist Aron Kobayashi Ritch and featuring Preston Fulks on drums, the band’s fourth LP documents all the life-altering upheaval its two singer-songwriter guitarists experienced during a whirlwind mid-2022 tour.

Each track, including standout single “I Want You (Fever)”, which saw them make their TV debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, is infused with sensitivity and unsparing self-awareness. The result is a bold leap forward for one of the most creatively uncompromising and distinctive talents in indie rock.

“We are so excited to be hitting Australia next year! We’ve been looking forward to playing this country for so long, can’t wait to see all of you,” Momma said of the tour.

They will be supported by Melbourne-based duo Armlock.

Tickets for Momma’s debut headline shows go on sale at 1pm on Friday, September 4th.
