The downfall of Morrissey has truly been a delight to witness. It looks as though the musician’s constant stream of racist comments and open support of xenophobic policies have negatively impacted the ticket sales of his US tour.

As Consequence of Sound report, resale tickets for his forthcoming tour are being flogged for as low as $7. A glance at Ticketmaster has revealed that Mozza is set to play in half-empty venues in Rochester Hills, Portland and Los Angeles. Oh, how the mighty fall.

Earlier this week, Muslim civil rights group the Council on American-Islamic Relations urged people to boycott Morrissey’s US tour on account of his “bigotry”.

“Under the circumstances, attending Morrissey’s concert is a form of financial support and, in effect, an endorsement of his bigotry,” said Zainab Chaudry of CAIR.

“Therefore, CAIR is calling on fans to boycott the event to protest his racist, hate-filled views and to send a strong message that we expect better from him.”

Morrissey’s controversial political opinions were brought to the forefront in early 2018, after he published a bizarre interview on his website which saw him identifying with far-right politics. The musician vocalised his support with the For Britain political party — a far-right party created by anti-Islam activist Anne Marrie Waters after she lost the 2017 leadership election for the right-wing UK Independence Party.”

In May this year, Morrissey performed on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon wearing a pin that supports the party, having been seen wearing the same pin during his New York residency.

Morrissey released his latest record, California Son, in May. The 12-track cover record saw the vocalist take on tunes by the likes of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Roy Orbison, Carly Simon, and more.
