Neil Young has truly lived up to the title on one of his most famous tracks, continuing to rock out after getting the plug pulled for breaking curfew.

If you’ve ever lived anywhere near a live music venue, then you’d undoubtedly be aware of how common noise complaints can be.

While we’ve seen numerous venues hit with restrictions and cancellations due to wowsers raising the slightest bit of ire towards the volume knob, some festivals have also been forced to adapt in order to keep people happy.

One of these festivals happens to be in the Californian wine region of Napa Valley, with the BottleRock festival taking place annually since 2013.

Unfortunately for punters though, the festival enforces a strict 10pm curfew, meaning that if any of the acts play past 10pm, organisers are required to pull the plug. They aren’t bluffing either, with The Cure and the Foo Fighters having their sets cut short in 2014 and 2017.

Now, Canadian rock legend Neil Young has joined the ranks, having the final minutes of his set cancelled over the weekend.

As The San Francisco Chronicle reports, Neil Young and Promise Of The Real were serving as the BottleRock Napa Valley headliner on Saturday night when his final song, ‘Keep On Rockin’ In The Free World’, was cut off by organisers.

While the sound was cut out, fans reacted with disappointment as Neil Young kept on playing, helping out the veteran musician by chanting out the chorus to his iconic song as he wrapped up the tune.

According to The Chronicle, the festival itself takes place within a residential area, undoubtedly seeming like a logistical nightmare for organisers.

However, by all accounts, only the final 90 seconds of Neil Young’s performance was affected, though this likely could have been avoided if he cut the 15-minute performance of ‘Love And Only Love’ back a little bit.
