Get ready for some new tunes to hit your ears, as frontman James Hetfield has revealed that “new Metallica music” will be coming out tomorrow.

While we’ve waiting for four years to hear new music from the metal giants since their 2016 album Hardwired… To Self-Destruct, this year has been filled with great, Metallica news following the a build up of the collective saying they’ve been working on new tunes while in quarantine.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Hetfield posted an audio announcement where he revealed the news that fans of the band have been waiting for: “Hey, this is James from Metallica. Tune in on Wednesday to hear new Metallica music from S&M2.”

Of course, as Metallica hails in the United States, they’re a day behind us, so we’ll be waiting until Thursday for a chance to hear what they’re cooking up.

Although his short audio clip doesn’t give us much detail, Metallica’s YouTube channel has a few thing scheduled to debut on the same day, including a trailer for S&M2, as well as a live version of their song ‘All Within My Hands’.

Only a few weeks ago, bassist Rob Trujillo mentioned that the band was working on some “exciting” new stuff, following Lars Ulrich revealing that the collective were working on a new album via Zoom.

“We’re excited about cultivating new ideas, to be honest. And everybody’s in a good headspace, for the most part, and that’s pretty much our focus now — let’s have fun with this. That’s part of the reason I got some updated recording gear and I’m putting ideas together and we’re checking kind of each other’s vibes out on new stuff. And that’s pretty much where we’re at,” Trujillo revealed.

“We can make music from our homes and work together and build stuff – and then we’ll get in that room together and we’ll bang the stuff out, but we’ll be 40 steps ahead.”
