Primus have announced details of their first album in 12 years. Les Claypool’s bunch of merry pranksters have announced a few details of the follow up to 1999’s Antipop.
In a post on the band’s website Claypool joked “For those of you that enjoyed the new song, ‘Last Salmon Man,’ that we played New Year’s, you’ll love the record because every song basically sounds exactly the same as that one. In fact, we just kept recording the same song over and over and I would just change a few of the lyrics around.”
Claypool has also threatened fans with the news that Blue Oyster Cult are a big influence on the new album. He says “Every song is pretty much a variation of ‘Don’t Fear the Reaper.’ Everyone should buy two copies.”
