New York will be celebrating the 70th birthday of late Beatle John Lennon. In true rock ‘n roll style, a concert will be held at the Beacon Theatre on November 12th, with performers including Patti Smith, Cyndi Lauper and Jackson Brown.
The concert is a one-off; however it numbers in a series of events- starting from October 9th- which commemorates Lennon’s birthday. His widow Yoko Ono has also organised two separate tribute gigs in LA during October staring meat-lover Lady Gaga and old meat- Iggy Pop. All proceeds from the shows will go towards Playing For Change Foundation- promoting peace with music.
