Despite having more leaks than the Titanic, the initial lineup announcement for Soundwave 2013 still made an impact as big as the names that graced its bill. From pop punks Blink 182 and The Offspring to the apperance of two of ‘The Big Four’ in Metallica and Antrhax, to some of the more populist selections like Linkin Park, Garbage and Paramore.

It’s safe to say though, that after presale tickets went on sale this week, all attention had turned to the impending announcement of the second round of bands that would be joining the lineup.

Again of course, there are some acts revealed that we already knew about. Such as Santa Barbara punk supergroup Versus The World, who’s frontman Mike Davenport already spilled the beans in an exclusive Tone Deaf interview.

Joining Billy Talent – off the back of their Australian tour – , Welsh rockers The Blackout, UK hardcore punk act Gallows and Blood On The Dancefloor as acts that were already pretty much locked in for the second round announcement.

Now we get to see the rest of the lineup – leaked and otherwise – that will be adding to the already impressive bill for the touring music event. The biggest surprise being the addition of the third of metal’s ‘Big Four’, SLAYER joining the bill alongside the already announced Metallica and Anthrax.

If there’s something here that seals the deal for you, you better be prepared for a bit of a tussle for tickets. With most of the pre-sale tickets now sold and allocated, festival boss and serial twitterer AJ Maddah has indicated that about 15% of total tickets are now left for the general public sale on Thursday 23rd August.
