The second Vans Warped Tour 2013 lineup announcement has landed, with a handful of international acts and a mix of local favourites added to the bill for the festival’s return to Australia this November and December for the first time in nearly a decade.
Leading the list of acts to join the already announced Warped Tour 2013 lineup of The Offspring, Simple Plan, Parkway Drive, New Found Glory, The Used, and more, is a band that festival promoter AJ Maddah had been hoping to “shoe-horn” onto the Warped Bill.
He’s been successful, with the esteemed Millencolin leading the second Warped Tour 2013 lineup announcement, set to bring their immense catalogue of classic albums and will be playing all the fan favourites. Joining the influential Swedish punk outfit – who last year celebrated their 20th anniversary – are Aussie hardcore heroes The Amity Affliction.
The chart-topping group, who are currently storming the country with a national tour, are adding their ferocious live show to the Warped Tour 2013 lineup alongside fellow UNFD labelmates, Buried In Verona and Hand Of Mercy.
Other local additions to the Warped Tour 2013 lineup come in Canberra band Hands Like Houses, who had previously let slip of their part in the touring punk one-day event, and Melbourne metalcore outfit Confession.
Meanwhile ska veterans Reel Big Fish will also join the Warped party, the group having previously hinted at plans to return to Australia earlier this month with a Warped-sized gap on their official tour page now filled.
The second Warped Tour 2013 lineup announcement is likely to push the Melbourne leg into a sell-out. Following on from announcing a change of venue in Melbourne to avoid a clash with Stereosonic patrons, putting the event back in Birrarung Marr, Maddah reported that “just under 3,000” tickets were left for the Melbourne Warped. “I really thought Sydney would sell out 1st,” tweeted the promoter.
Warped Tour attendees have also been offered the chance to jump the queues at the gates, while still feeling good about it, by dropping off a donation at the Warped entry points as part of the Warped Tour Food Drive.
