Want to own your very own custom pair of sneakers designed by Australian rock royalty like You Am I, Tame Impala, and Pond?

How about showing off some ace kicks with doodlings from indie folkie Bon Iver, chart-topping popsters fun., singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, or Moby?

Then ‘In Their Shoes’ is really going to tick your boxes.

Many of those musical sneakers and more are being featured in a charity auction and accompanying exhibition put together by Warner Music Australia in association with stylish shoemakers Converse, ink-peddlers Sharpie, and online auction site, eBay.

The creative project sees over 80 artists from across the globe coming together to contribute hand designed, one of a kind works – with Converse kicks serving as the canvas – which will be auctioned off through eBay, with proceeds going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, or a charity of the artist’s choice.

The In Their Shoes auction is already underway (head here to get involved), and only 24 hours after going live, is already kicking goals, with Canadian crooner Michael Bublé leading the pack, crossing the $10,000 mark with his spartan black pair of shoes sitting at $920 on auction.

Others up for auction over the next four days include some characteristically colourful doodles from the aforementioned psych rock favourites, sister bands Tame Impala and Pond, while You Am I fittingly provide ‘Purple Sneakers’. Then there’s the minimalistic but iconic ‘Little Idiot’ design from Moby, the Beatles-referencing art from fusion soul act Mutemath, and Ed Sheeran’s orange boots.

Along with the charity auction, Sydney live music venue The Standard is hosting a public exhibition from midday to 7pm this Sunday 27th October (gold coin donation for entry) where all 80 sneaker designs will be on display before they’re given away to the winning bidders.

There’s more cool In Their Shoes action to enjoy at the event’s official YouTube channel, which shows footage of many of the artists sketching their charity-raising Converse shoes, including Moby and guitar rockers Surfer Blood putting together their T-Rex featuring pair, as well as live performances and tracks from participating artists.
