Quick, batten down the hatches, hide your children, hide your wives, and prepare for musical Armageddon. We’ve just caught wind, on Friday of all days, that the princess-elect of commercial drivel, Rebecca Black, will be gracing our shores all thanks to our friends at Telstra.

Seriously, somebody should shoot a memo to whoever’s booking talent at the telco and tell them that they’re a few months too late. We haven’t hear a peep about Rebecca Black since she dropped out of high school because she couldn’t deal with all her classmates constantly asking her what day it was. She did release a second single but predictably nobody really cared.
And at that point the whole ‘Friday’ saga went from funny to just plain sad. Did Rebecca really think she could somehow salvage a career from the carnage? Apparently so as she’s left Ark Music Factory, who she paid $4000 for ‘Friday’, and started her own appropriately titled label, RB Records.
Her debut album is released next month and while it too will probably bomb her views on Youtube continue to rise. Look out for her at a Telstra event near you.
