Fans of stoner rock rejoice! One of the greatest stoner rock bands ever, Fu Manchu, have announced a full scale headline tour across Australia.
The legendary Southern Cali stoner rockers had already made a lot of people’s dreams come true when they were announced as the headliner of the best little rock’n’roll festival going round, CherryRock; now with a national tour plotted out – supported by San Francisco sludge metal duo Black Cobra and Melbourne rock god Matt Sonic And The High Times – and a couple of shows in NZ, those who missed out on CherryRock tickets have another chance.
The band celebrated their 20th year in 2010 with the re-release of several of their classic albums, shows that saw them play selected records from start to finish, and the re-mastering and packaging of demos from their time as Virulence (prior to the Fu Manchu name change in 1990). Standing shoulder to shoulder with other icons of the genre, Kyuss and Monster Magnet, Fu Manchu are set to reignite rock and roll in Australia during April and May.
