Everyone’s favourite summer tour is back and it’s bigger and better than ever. In 2013 Destroy All Lines is bringing back Boys Of Summer with a line up that will definitely get moshpits moving and the party started. The line up that is going to get things moving features the notorious Deez Nuts, Canadian hardcore legends Comeback Kid, Michigan’s For The Fallen Dreams and Sydney’s own Hand Of Mercy.

Deez Nuts is the brainchild of JJ Peters, started after I Killed The Prom Queen originally split in 2008. Equally influenced by hardcore and hiphop, the brash combination has made Deez Nuts one of the most notorious bands in hardcore. The band has just finished up work on their third full-length. Arguably their most diverse work to date, the album was recorded earlier this year with Shane Frisby (Bury Your Dead, The Ghost Inside) and features Freddy Cricien (Madball), Sam Carter (Architects) and Jon Blake (On Broken Wings) among others. Keep an eye out for Bout It, due out this January.

Since dropping their debut full-length Turn It Around back in 2003, Comeback Kid have been an undeniable staple of the hardcore community. From there they released the classic Wake The Dead, changed vocalists on Broadcasting and then released the brilliant Symptoms + Cures in 2010. This is a record that the band states is the pinnacle of their cumulative output: gang vocals, half-time bridges and tastefully placed breakdowns, all trademarks of the CBK sound. It’s a sound that is great on record and even better live.

In today’s hardcore/metal scene it’s easy for anyone to become jaded by the constant clones of the same band with a hundred different names. For The Fallen Dreams are one of those noteworthy bands that are mix poignant and powerful writing – both musically and lyrically – while remaining true to their roots. It’s metal balanced with melody, and brutally honest lyrics. This is a band that has a future that needs to be taken seriously.

For Hand Of Mercy, it has been a long road to success. Having started out in 2007, the band has taken that long road, and the relentless touring and self-releasing their records have all been in the pursuit of perfecting their art. The end result is getting signed to UNFD and releasing their newest album Last Lights. It just goes to show, for those who work hard, on their own terms, success comes and every little bit of it is deserved.

In 2013, Boys Of Summer is set to show audiences across the country just what four bands at the top of their games can do. Be sure to catch the tour when I hits venues across the country this January.
