Oh Mercy recently announced their final Melbourne headline shows for 2013 before they relocate overseas, limited tickets remain for Thursday 16th May while Friday 17th May is Sold Out.

Headed by songwriter Alexander Gow, Oh Mercy continues to grow a devoted audience through its recently–released third album Deep Heat with media raving about the record, including our Tone Deaf reviewer, awarding an 8.5/10 score and remarking: “Oh Mercy’s decision to craft an album that is far removed from [previous work] is not only inspired, but a smart career move… Deep Heat is an intoxicating listen which ensures that when people think of Oh Mercy, this is the record that people will most likely remember.”

With an enviable reputation in the live setting through numerous sold out shows, and support slots for the likes of The Temper Trap, Father John Misty, and Crowded House to name a few and on festival stages at Splendour In The Grass, Laneway, the Big Day Out and the Falls Festvial, Oh Mercy will be playing their last shows in Australia for the year this month.

Slow Dancer, the solo offering from Australian multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Simon Okel, will be opening proceedings at both shows performing for the first time with a full band, with Okely performing his rhythm and blues, folk and soul inspired songs from his debut album Surrender.

Alexander Gow will also perform solo, playing songs from Privileged WoesGreat Barrier Grief, some new songs, and even some rarities, while being joined on stage by different special guests each evening. Rumour of a live performance of Gow’s recent French duet with Gossling have been sparked after mentioning online she will be at the shows.

Then playing songs from their most recent album Deep Heat, Oh Mercy will have everyone dancing as they say good-bye to Melbourne. These are shows not to be missed!
