The Dirt Farmer Australian Tour 2013 has been announced, which will see the five-piece embarking on a regional east coast tour in support of their new single, ‘She Shakes’.
The She Shakes tour will see Dirt Farmer spreading their brand of breezy slacker pop across regional Victoria, Sydney and Adelaide on stages across Australia’s eastern seaboard.
The tour follows the release of single ‘She Shakes’, which was given a recent Indie Clip Of the Week nod from ABC’s Rage. ‘She Shakes’ is the second single to be lifted from the band’s 2013 EP Delilah Lightning, released in mid-June to glowing praise.
Albury-Wodonga natives Dirt Farmer have been making their own brand of summer-tinged slacker rock and roll since 2010. “Albury is a place where there are only [one or two] venues and it’s all heavy metal,” joked guitarist and lead vocalist Stu Barlow in a recent interview with Tone Deaf, but admitted “we only started playing once we moved to Melbourne.”
Since moving to Melbourne they have evolved from a fresh-faced young band into a force to be reckoned with. “With a band with three guitars you’ve got to think which guitars go with each other, you’ve got to think about tones,” says Barlow of the band’s distinct slacker pop sound and band versatility.
