A Deerhunter Australian Tour 2013 has been announced and following news that the band are headed to Australia for Meredith Music Festival this December, Bradford Cox and his rock revisionists have now announced a series of sideshows across Australia.
Arriving off the back of their latest triumph, this year’s critically lauded Monomania album, Atlanta’s untouchable indie-rock quintet Deerhunter are headed to Australian shores this summer. The band will be playing headline shows along the east coast in Brisbane, Sydne,y and Melbourne, as well as their headline performance at this year’s Meredith Music Festival.
Riding high on the success of their latest album, the band has levitated to new heights, given the esteemed honour of curating the last ever All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in the UK. All which puts the Bradford Cox-led five piece in good form for their engaging, enthralling yet unpredictable live show which is in turns insightful and also wonderfully frightful.
Since their inception in 2001, the band has undergone a plethora of lineup, stylistic, and genre changes. The group describes their sound as ‘ambient punk’, with critics labelling their music everything from shoegaze to neo-glam. Monomania is the latest testament to an undeniably brilliant and ever changing band, not settling for one particular style or identity; always striving for innovation and inimitability.
