The Bamboos Australian Tour 2013 has been announced as the band confirm the release of a brand new studio album.

Following on from the band’s widely celebrated Medicine Man album, which featured The Bamboos alongside an all-star list of collaborators – including Tim Rogers, Megan Washington, Aloe Blacc, and many more – the group are ready to unleash it’s follow-up, Fever In The Road.

Like its predecessor, the band’s sixth album Fever In The Road was co-produced by ARIA-nominated, multi-instrumentalist studio wizard John Castle – whose work with the likes of Washington, Josh Pyke, Gossling, Pez and Kate Miller-Heidke has ranked him amongst the first-call producers in Australia.

The new record sees Castle and chief Bamboo Lance Ferguson venturing into sonic landscapes the group have previously touched on but never fully inhabited. Leaner and more muscular, yet upon closer inspection the tracks reveal themselves to be densely multi-layered in a ‘Wall Of Sound’ style. And it’s this aural complexity and depth that allows darker moods to roam through the album, taking their sound to a new place. The songs career from the wondrously anthemic (the lead single ‘Avenger’, ‘The Truth’, ‘Rats’, ‘Jump My Train’), to the dreamy and psychedelic (‘Looking West’, ‘Harbinger’) and the darkly fragile (‘Killing Jar’, ‘Before I Go’).

Further redefining the shape and groove of Australian soul music since the 2000s, The Bamboos new album sees the band hitting the road this November and December with a genre-defying new album that solidifies their reputation as harbingers of musical evolution.

Presented by Niche, the Fever In The Road Tour will see The Bamboos playing dates across the country the band will be show casing all new tunes from their upcoming album as well as playing selections from their renowned back catalogue.

2012 was a huge year for the Bamboos. The release of the Medicine Man album culminated in an ARIA Australian Album Top 10 debut, iTunes R&B/Soul Chart #1, a sold-out nationwide tour, breakthrough to commercial radio airplay, three ARIA nominations (Best Live Act, Best Urban Release, Best Independent Album) and inclusion in the Triple J Hottest 100 (#54 for ‘I Got Burned’ feat. Tim Rogers).

In between the band continued to set in stone their reputation as one of Australia’s most incendiary live acts with appearances at Splendour In The Grass, Bluesfest, WOMADelaide, Falls Festival, Homebake and the national ‘Rock ‘N’ Soul Medicine Show’ tour with Tim Rogers.

Don’t miss the opportunity to see one of Australia’s most lauded live acts, as they play coast to coast with their fantastic new album in tow.

Fever In The Road is out 8th November on Pacific Theatre through Inertia. Check out the tour dates and an animated teaser for album track ‘The Avenger’ below.
