The Kill Devil Hills Celebrate 10 Years With A Debut Live Album & Tour

The Kill Devil Hills
Ten years after first banging out tunes around Perth in 2003, The Kill Devil Hills are set to release their first live album, Past and Future Ghosts, recorded on a balmy March night earlier this year at an old gothic ex-asylum/now-arts centre in Fremantle, WA.

About to step into the studio to record a new album, The Kill Devil Hills will be doing a breakneck run of 5 cities in early November to launch the release Past and Future Ghosts. The live album will be available on CD at shows, and digitally via Bandcamp.

The Grand Rapids Announced National Tour

The Grand Rapids
The Grand Rapids are 60’s influenced psych rock merchants from the near future. Droney walls of fuzz, reverb drenched vocals, caveman drums and Tax Man bass lines construct the sonic makeup whilst kaleidoscopic projections, lasers and smoke machines are used to create a visual feast that is creating a local groundswell for these paisley troubadours.

Following on from the 7” single release of Blow Up, The Grand Rapids are set to release debut album ‘Great Shakes’ in October on local label Psyche Ward. The melodies are dark and brooding yet still have an uplifting appeal as can be experienced with the likes of The Cure, Joy Division, or even Leonard Cohen. The subject matter is no boy-meets-girl summer romance stuff either.

To celebrate the release of their debut album, The Grand Rapids will be hitting the road across the east coast.

Friday October 18th – Brighton Up Bar, Sydney
Saturday October 19th – Grand Central, Brisbane
Saturday October 26th – Yah Yahs, Melbourne

Patrick James Announces the Spring Tour – Final Shows of 2013

Patrick James
After wowing punters and industry alike at his jam-packed official BIGSOUND showcase just days ago, Patrick James has announced he will be doing one final hurrah around the nation for 2013, before retreating to craft his debut album for release next year. The Spring Tour heads across five of the seven mainland states and marks the rising troubadour’s biggest headline tour to date.

Since selling out two shows at Sydney’s Vanguard Theatre back in March, James has had priceless opportunities to hone his notable performance skills around Australia. After supporting Emma Louise as part of her album tour, James barely had the time to return home before heading out as the main support for the recently concluded Josh Pyke tour. Now, as he undertakes the Spring Tour, Patrick and his band are no doubt ready to take to the stage as the main event.
