The Future Music Festival Asia 2014 lineup has been announced, slated to be the biggest festival ever held in South East Asia as the international arm of Australia’s annual music festival.
Details of the mammoth Future Music Festival Asia 2014 Malaysian musical safari were revealed at a press conference today in Kuala Lumpur, where FMFA 2014 organisers – Future Music Australia, the Mushroom Group, and Livescape Asia – were joined by Malaysia’s Minister Of Tourism & Culture to launch the three-day event.
Featuring a selection of the Australian edition’s lineup for next year, the Malaysian lineup includes one key exception, the legendary Wu-Tang Clan, featuring rap icons Method Man, Ghostface Killah, and Raekwon.
Also on the massive Malaysian festival bill are dupstep kingpin Deadmau5, who will be headlining day one with a massive opening party. Day two will see trance major Armin Van Buuren present his show, ‘A State Of Trance 650‘ with a personally handpicked lineup joining him on the day.
The mighty Wu-Tang Clan will feature on day three, where four massive stages will host the likes of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Rudimental, Chase & Status, Baauer, Eric Prydz (ni his first appearance in Asia), Tinie Tempah, Sub Focus live, Knife Party, Naughty Boy, and more.
“We have a phenomenal line-up and I don’t think Southeast Asia, let alone Malaysia, has ever witnessed a gathering of musical talents in a single event of this proportion and scale,” says Brett Robinson, Director of Future Music Australia. “Future Music Festival Asia 2014 will be the biggest music event to ever happen in this part of the region.”
The event is expected to draw an estimated 75,000 punters to the three-day event, taking place from 13th Thursday to the 15th Saturday March, 2014, with tickets going on sale today. Future Music Festival Asia 2014 will take place at Mines Wonderland, a theme park located 20 minutes from Kuala Lumpur’s centre and part of the Mines Resort City vicinity.
