Daughter Laneway Festival 2014 sideshows have been announced with the acclaimed singer-songwriter playing exclusive headline shows to complement his appearance atthe indie boutique festival next February.
Following on from Laneway announcing its own set of sideshows, featuring Chvrches, King Krule, and Savages, Daughter now joins the list.
The London trio will perform two intimate sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne in the unique Heavenly Sounds setting when they are in the country for St Jerome’s Laneway Festival next February.
The Heavenly Sounds touring concept, which sees artists perform in the breathtaking surroundings of churches and cathedrals, has proven to be a great success on the live music circuit with sold out tours from acts such as Laura Marling, Seeker Lover Keeper, Kate Miller-Heidke and Lisa Mitchell to name a few.
Starting out in 2010, Duaghter released two EPs His Young Heart and The Wild Youth in 2011 before signing to 4AD a year later. With numerous sold out shows under their belts, and a fan base that continues to multiply, it’s no real surprise that their debut long-player If You Leave entered the Top 20 in the UK album charts in its first week of release earlier this year, earning glowing reviews in the process, including our Tone Deaf review who called it a “solemn yet charming listen.”
As well as playing shows with Sigur Rós and The National, Daughter were one of this year’s highlights at the Glastonbury Festival and Australia’s very own Splendour In The Grass. Expect a very special performance from Daughter at their Heavenly Sounds shows.
