The Groovin The Moo 2014 lineup has been announced, and regional Australia is set for a real treat.

Following on from announcing full ticketing details and the first band of the lineup letting slip ahead of today’s official announcement, the full eclectic bill for the 2014 edition of the annual festival has landed.

Playing Groovin The Moo 2014 on all six legs – including the newly added Oakbank leg – is a batch of international artists, featuring UK grime scamp Dizzee Rascal, the breakout dance duo Disclosure, and from the USA, tongue-twisting rapper Action Bronson, indie rock twosome Cults, one-man electro band Robert DeLong, Canadian instrumentalists Holy Fuck, and hopping the pond from New Zealand, the Naked And Famous.

The Australian representatives on the Groovin The Moo 2014 lineup provide plenty to get excited about too, including Hottest 100 winner Vance Joy, The Presets, Brisbane grunge disciples Violent Soho, the award-winning The Jezabels, the colourful pop of Architecture In Helsinki, and, as previously announced, the mighty prog powerhouse that is Karnivool.

Also on the Groovin The Moo 2014 lineup is Illy and Thundamentals, for the Aussie hip hop fans, Loon Lake, Kingswood, The Jungle Giants, Parkway Drive, Andy Bull, The Kite String Tangel, and to help get the paddocks dancefloor started: Peking Duk, Sydney’s Wave Racer, and Flume side-project What So Not.

This year’s edition of Groovin The Moo celebrates its 10th anniversary as it makes the overland trek to the communities and regional centres that aren’t always treated with such musical lineups.

With a legacy of events which sell out, tickets for GTM 2014 will be on sale for the value-packed price of around $100 from 9am local time on Tuesday 4 February for Bendigo VIC, Townsville QLD and Bunbury WA. At 9am local time on Wednesday 5 February tickets go on sale for the Oakbank SA, Maitland NSW and Canberra ACT events.

Along with the Groovin The Moo 2014 lineup, Cattleyard Promotions – the team behind the festival – are set to debut the first Groovin The Moo exhibition at the Maitland Regional Art Gallery. The free multi-media exhibition features graphics, objects, video, music, and writings from the festival archives across two rooms at Maitland Regional Art Gallery from 7th March to the 25th May.

Last year’s Groovin The Moo lineup featured The Temper Trap, Flume, Frightened Rappit, Tame Impala, Matt & Kim, and They Might Be Giants and saw the event selling out in Maitland, Bunbury, and Bendigo; where our Tone Deaf reviewer remarked: “In what is becoming an increasingly ruthless market, Groovin’ The Moo has managed to occupy an enviable niche.”
