The Ásgeir Splendour In The Grass 2014 Sideshows have been announced.

The newest and most exciting act to come out of Iceland in recent times, Ásgeir, will grace Australian shores for the very first time this July as part of the Splendour In The Grass 2014 lineup, where we previously pegged him as one of 17 you simply don’t want to miss.

Now there’s two more chances to catch Ásgeir on his debut Australian tour, as Handsome Tours confirms the Icelandic songsmith will perform two not-to-be-missed headline sideshows to accompany his festival appearance.

Ásgeir’s debut album In The Silence has received endless praise ever since its release and his popularity has begun to explode, as it has been doing in the UK and across the rest of Europe. The album peaked at #8 on the ARIA Charts last month, and was Triple J’s Feature Album for the week of release.

It also saw Ásgeir translate his album from his native Icelandic into English, as he explained to Tone Deaf in a recent interview. “When people hear something in Icelandic for the first time, they don’t necessarily connect to it very well, so that’s where the idea came from,” he says.

Hailed ‘the next big thing’ this Icelandic artist is sure to stun Australian audiences this July!
