The Nick Cave Solo Australian Tour 2014 has expanded, adding additional dates to meet overwhelming demand for the Australian music icon’s forthcoming dates.
After going on sale this morning, within minutes tickets for dates in Melbourne, Sydney had sold out. A few additional performances have now been added to the tour schedule, allowing extra chances for Sydney and Melbourne fans to catch the Nick Cave Solo Australian Tour 2014. No Bad Seeds, No Grinderman – just the royal of Australian music himself.
UPDATE 4/07: Even more shows in Perth, Adelaide, and Sydney have now sold out with more additional dates and tickets confirmed for the tour. There aren’t many shows left so it’s strongly recommend you get your tickets as soon as possible if you want to attend these very special Nick Cave shows.
The rare series of solo concerts will see Nick Cave supported by a small ensemble of musicians for a national tour this November and December. Cave will be presenting an evening of songs from right across his considerable catalogue, including from the latest entry in his discography, the mutli-award-winning, AMP-nominated Push The Sky Away.
The album became Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds’ first-ever #1 album in their 30 year history, scooped two ARIA Awards (for Best Independent Release and Best Adult Contemporary Album) and was a darling of critics worldwide (including Tone Deaf readers who named it the #1 Aussie album of 2013).
“The aim is to try to create a unique show for Australia – something special and out of the ordinary,” says Cave.
The Nick Cave Solo Australian Tour also follows the latest creative endeavour for the artist, the genre-defying documentary 20,000 Days On Earth, the debut directorial feature by British visual artists lain Forsyth and Jane Pollard.

The film portrays a fictionalized 24 hours in Nick’s life. With startlingly frank insights and an intimate portrayal of the artistic process, the film examines what makes us who we are, and celebrates the transformative power of the creative spirit.
The film made its World Premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, where it was awarded “Best Directing” and “Best Editing” Awards in the World Cinema Documentary category and was selected to open this year’s Sydney Film Festival. The film is set to an original score by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis. ‘20,000 Days on Earth’ opens theatrically in Australia and New Zealand later in the year.
Nick last toured Australia in 2013 with the Bad Seeds for the release of Push the Sky Away in what was a spectacular run of sold out shows in some of Australia’s most revered live music spaces including the Sydney Opera House, Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Brisbane Riverstage and Red Hill Auditorium.
This very special and more intimate concert tour will see Nick perform in some of the more majestic theatres and auditoriums in Australia.
