It’s been a rough trot for Nicolas Cage. The Moonstruck actor is currently in the midst of filing for a marriage annulment drunkenly marrying his partner makeup artist Erika Koike in Vegas.

Cage filed to have the marriage annulled four days after the ceremony took place. Unluckily for him, he’s not getting off the hook that easy. Koike is claiming the marriage was real and is seeking spousal support.

Naturally, times of stress call for pragmatic, often drastic action. Cage is dealing with the stress of his fourth marriage crumbling in the most productive way possible. The actor has hit up a karaoke bar in Los Angeles to belt out the most furious cover of Prince’s 1984 classic ‘Purple Rain’ that we’ve ever witnessed.

Thankfully, some godly soul captured the momentous performance and, like all good samaritans, flogged it to TMZ. It’s one of the most all-consuming spectacles we’ve ever seen. Cage seems to make his way through the song not out of want, but out of need. His performance is unparalleled in passion, perhaps his best since the career-defining “no, not the bees” moment in The Wicker Man. It has to be seen to be believed, check out the footage here.

Nicolas Cage has beaten his personal best record for short-lived unions. Back in 2002, he split from his second wife, Lisa Marie Presley, after three months of marriage. Cage’s first wife was actress Patricia Arquette, who he was married to from 1995 to 2001. His third and longest marriage was with Alice Kim, a former waitress. He’s just too much man to handle, but we wish him the best of luck on his next romantic endeavour.
