A vigil for slain rapper Nipsey Hussle has turned violent, with numerous people being treated by paramedics following the event.

Yesterday, news came forth that rapper Nipsey Hussle (real name Ermias Asghedom) had passed away following a shooting in Hyde Park, Los Angeles.

While police have not yet arrested a suspect, speculation has flowed that the shooter was likely known to the rapper, and that the motivation was of a personal nature.

On the internet however, theories began to swirl that Hussle was in fact assassinated by the US government. This reasoning was due in part to the fact that he was reportedly working on a documentary about the 1985 trial of Dr. Sebi, a Honduran herbalist claimed that he could cure AIDS.

Understandably, there has been a massive outpouring of grief for Nipsey Hussle, with the Associated Press now reporting numerous injuries at a Los Angeles vigil for the late artist.

As AP notes, firefighters were called to the South Los Angeles vigil on Monday night with reports of a possible shooting or stabbing.

While claims of a shooting have since been dismissed by the Los Angeles Police Department, it appears that a number of injuries at the scene have been caused by “trampling” as the crowd quickly dispersed.

According to NBC News, at least 19 people have been injured at the vigil, four of them critically, with the occurrence of a fight being cited as the cause.

Los Angeles Police Chief Michael Moore explained that a “disturbance” occurred around 8:30pm, which soon set off “a cascading series of events that caused a lot of turmoil.”

“Uncertainty can cause people to swarm and move in these heavy flows,” Moore noted, explaining that “some individuals in the group were attacking or striking someone else.”

This story is developing.
