We’re excited to see legends of punk NOFX atop the bill of the inaugural Download Festival Australia lineup when it rolls into Melbourne next March, alongside the likes of Korn, Prophets Of Rage, Limp Bizkit, Mastodon, Good Charlotte, Suicidal Tendencies, Gojira and more.
But now Brisbane and Sydney will be able to catch them too, even if they can’t make it down to Melbourne for the festival, with the band announcing two Download Festival sideshows supported by a couple of other Download acts in Hot Water Music and Bad Cop/Bad Cop.
They’ll also be joined by local punk supergroup Dad Religion, boasting members of Frenzal Rhomb, Bodyjar and Clowns – always well worth a watch.
Fans were disappointed in 2016 when NOFX’s scheduled Soundwave Festival appearance was cancelled after the event folded, but thankfully Download has stepped in to start bringing the heavy international bands back to our shores.
On the plus side, NOFX released their first album since 2012 last year, titled First Ditch Effort, giving fans some new material to look forward to when they arrive next year.
General public tickets for the shows go on sale from 9am on Wednesday 6 December, with a presale starting on Monday, while tickets for the full Download Festival are on sale too – check out the full lineup below.
