Holders of the #1 slot on the 2018 countdown of triple j’s Hottest 100 with their song ‘Confidence’, Sydney alt-rockers Ocean Alley are getting ready for what seems to be a new album, and are debuting their newest single ‘Hot Chicken’ this evening.

For the past few days, Aussie gods Ocean Alley have been teasing something via their Instagram and website. Small icons have popped up, as well as short video clips of roast chicken heating in the microwave, as well as a rotating drumstick over their upcoming track ‘Hot Chicken’. Then, a countdown began on their website, with all signs pointing to 12:00PM EST today.

Well, the countdown is over, and we know what the brilliant outfit has in store for us – they’ve got a new single debuting this evening on triple j.

Although the band only released their The Archives tour documentary last week, taking the viewers behind the scenes to see the magic that takes place in order to put on an Ocean Alley gig, the alt-rock sextet seems to have bigger plans in motion, and perhaps a new album on the horizon.

Taking to Instagram, the band has popped up a marvellous photo of themselves strutting their stuff to reveal that their new single ‘Hot Chicken’ will be played on triple j this evening at 6:00PM EST.

Although there’s currently no other details surrounding their newest tunes, their cryptic Instagram posts and mysterious countdowns on their website seem to be leading towards the likes of a new album. At least, that’s what fans are hopeful of.

Tune in to triple j this evening at 6:00PM to hear ‘Hot Chicken’ first. Ocean Alley will also be premiering their new song via YouTube on Tuesday, April 28th.
