Opeth tickets are nearly sold out for their massive Australian tour which is running in mid-December.

Very few bands could ever match the high-octane energy and ferocity of Sweden’s very own Opeth. Formed in the Stockholm suburb of Bandhagen in 1990, the legendary band whose career has spanned across 30 incredible years, have defied all the odds, and have crafted 12 masterpiece albums so far, earning their title as one of the best bands around currently. Whether it be live or through your headphones, everyone can attest to Opeth’s sonic grandeur, be they fans or musicians who credit the band as the touchstone to which all their influence derives.

Opeth are essentially peerless. They’re in their own lane and have never shown signs of slowing down for anything. Just this year the band released their brand new album In Cauda Venenum, which has been met with rave reviews from even the harshest of critics.

“Music for me is not meant to stand still or stay in the same place,” Opeth’s Mikael Åkerfeldt says in regards to the new album, in a recent interview with Metal Injection. “Even if we have a career, and of course it would be nice to maintain that career, to have that always, but not at the expense of the music that I write. I wouldn’t, I don’t think I would do a very good job, to be honest, to write a record or even a song based on what I think some fans would want.”

December 2019 will see Opeth performing a stunning set of classic tracks from throughout their 30-year career as well as introducing Australian audiences to astounding new material from their brand new studio album.

If you’ve been fortunate enough to catch these guys live at one of their concerts then you know exactly what to expect this time. Raucous riffs, intense energy and an absolutely unmissable show. However, if you’ve never caught Opeth live, then what are you waiting for? These opportunities don’t come by very often, it’s time to bear witness to the incredible powers that this band possess.
