Ozzy Osbourne has been forced to cancel a show in North America after undergoing emergency surgery on his infected hand.

Former Black Sabbath vocalist Ozzy Osbourne is currently over in the US for his ‘No More Tours II’ tour. However California fans have been forced to wait a few extra days to see their idol after he was forced to undergo surgery recently.

As Mercury News reports, the iconic singer was scheduled to perform at the Shoreline Amphitheatre on Saturday night before being taken to hospital.

“The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy-winning singer and songwriter is being treated for an infection, which required surgery on his hand this morning,” explained a statement on Ozzy’s website.

“Osbourne will spend a couple of days at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles where he’ll remain under doctor’s care as they monitor the infection.”

While the show in question has been rescheduled for October 16th, Ozzy Osbourne also took to Twitter to share images of himself in hospital, explaining that he’s “feeling better after surgery” and noting that “ice cream helps.”

Just last month, Ozzy Osbourne hit back at those fans who took his recent tour to mean he was retiring from music altogether.

“What I’m stopping is doing what I’m doing now, going around the world all the time,” he explained in an interview with The Inquirer. “I wish people would understand I’m not retiring. Is it my bad English accent? It’s called the ‘No More Tours’ tour. It doesn’t say ‘No more tours ever.‘”

“I’ve got grandchildren that I want to spend time with,” he reasoned. “I never spent that much time with my own kids. But I don’t punch a card every morning. This is not my job; it’s my passion. It’s been the best thing that’s ever happened to me in my life.”

Ozzy Osbourne is set to touch down in Australia early next year for the 2019 edition of the Download Festival. Here’s hoping that no urgent surgeries require him to have miss any of those dates at all.
