Paradise Lost have announced a tour of Australia.

The gothic metal band will play shows in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne this October (see full dates below).

According to a press release, their 2026 shows will feature “a ferocious, career‑spanning descent into the band’s most iconic moments.”

Formed in Halifax, England, in 1988, Paradise Lost have quickly carved out their position as one of the pioneers of gothic metal.

They’ve released 17 studio albums over the decades, with their most recent album Ascension dropping last year. Ascension was a hit across Europe, charting in the top 20 in Austria, Belgium, Finland, Poland, Germany, and more.

“It’s rare a band as long in the tooth as Paradise Lost uncorks a late career album that can stand among the giants in their catalog, but Ascension is one such slippery aberration,” wrote Angry Metal Guy.

“Despite a couple issues with pacing and some weaker tracks, Ascension provides the same high-quality songwriting we’ve come to expect from the band,” read Sputnik Music‘s review.

Tickets to the tour go on sale to the general public on Thursday, February 5th at 11am AEDT. The pre-sale begins on Wednesday, February 4th at 11am AEDT.

Paradise Lost continue to receive positive reviews from critics.

“Paradise Lost are still among the greatest and most influential metal bands their country has ever produced,” hailed Rockflesh.
