Band splits are rarely amicable, and when there’s an official statement, you need to read between the lines. In the case of Paramore, it seems that the recent departure of brothers Josh & Zac Farro had a bit more to it than the remaining band members would like us to think. A blog post, purportedly to be from the Farro brothers, tells a very different tale to the one on the band’s website.

The lengthy blog post suggests that the band’s record company only signed front woman Haley Williams as an artist and that they were treated as hired hands, although they co-wrote many of the songs. It also suggests that being in the band was far from fun.

They say: “The band was in the dark the whole time. After many meetings between Hayley, her manager and the labels they decided to sign her to Atlantic records. We didn’t understand why Hayley was the only one signing the contract since we were told this was a “band”, but we were too young to grasp all of this.  So far, Zac and I haven’t signed with another label, although I guess our part of Paramore sure could. Next thing we knew we were having a signing party for Hayley.”
