Bluesfest Festival has just unveiled the 2020 instalment of their lineup, and holy smokes, we need to sit down. This is well and truly the lineup that dreams are made of people.

The 31st annual Byron Bay Bluesfest is set to take place from 9th – 13th April 2020 and boasts a lineup of festival favourites, icons making their Bluesfest debut and a few names we never thought we’d witness live again. So without further ado, here is the first instalment of Bluesfest 2020 lineup.

Patti Smith and her Band delivered one of the most memorable sets in Bluesfest history back in 2017. The performance was originally slated to be her final ever Australian show, but the festival God’s have blessed us with one more opportunity to witness The Godmother of Punk in the flesh.

We’re not sure how they keep pulling off these miracles, but Bluesfest has managed to convince another band to come out of retirement for an exclusive festival appearance. New Zealand heroes Crowded House will make their triumphant return to the Bluesfest stage for the first time since their legendary 2016 Opera House Forecourt performance.

Dave Matthews Band has accrued a cult-like following over the years. The band will make their return to Bluesfest 2020 for their third performance at the festival. It’s destined to be an absolutely unmissable spectacle.

The lineup boasts a slew of some of the most significant names in music, including 10-time Grammy Award-winning guitarist George Benson, three-time Grammy Award-winning songwriter Brandi Carlile, hometown heroes John Butler and Xavier Rudd and the reigning queen of 2000s indie Jenny Lewis.
