Plan B – the British rap/soul superstar – AKA Ben Drew – who we tipped a year ago in our hot tips for 2010 is now coming out to Australia for his inaugural tour of the country as part of the Big Day Out. However, he’s revealed plans to kill off his alter ego, Strickland Banks.

According to Drew, he’s tired of his soul persona, despite having just sold out a massive string of theatre dates around the UK. He says “As an artist, someone with many different tastes, I want to go and venture into a different style – maybe reggae, maybe punk, dubstep,” he reckons.

“Who knows. There’s stuff that I’m experimenting with at the moment that I really want to get stuck into.” What ever this bloke does, it turns to gold so let’s watch this space.
