A thinking person’s dinner party was incomplete without Portishead’s album Dummy on in the background during the 90s. After a dark and storming comeback in 2008 with their third album entitled, cleverly, Third, the group’s instrumentalist/producer Geoff Barrow has said they’re about to make their fourth album. Speaking to BBC6 Music, Barrow revealed “I’m writing for Portishead through July and August. I just want to bang on and get another record done.”

He also said they’d be signing with a major and felt that the band had been ignored by the British music industry, but couldn’t give a release date for the LP. Speaking of the recent record deal, he said: “It’s with a major. It’s with the biggest record company in the world,” he said. “It’s with people we trust, which with a band is the most important thing.”
