The fallout from the recent Post Malone and Ozzy Osbourne collaboration has served up a fair share of Tweets that are forever immortalised in cyber folklore.
The chief issue appears to be simply that many Post Malone fans have no idea who the hell Ozzy Osbourne is. Turns out decapitating a bat onstage can only get you so far.
“This is why I love Post Malone – shining a light on unknown artists” read one thoroughly unironic tweet.
“IDK who Ozzy is, but Posty just put him on the map” read another, praising Malone for bringing the prince of darkness into the earholes of a whole new generation.
While it may be depressing to see so many oblivious to the artist who effectively invented heavy metal, the positive rap (heh) that he’s been receiving for the track is sure to get some new Coachella warriors along to his shows.
“He’s so good – he’s gonna be famous AND popular” read one tweet, pulling off a kind of reverse Nostradamus effect in the process.

Ozzy has been pretty positive about the collaboration, noting that it’s his “favourite thing he’s done since Black Sabbath.”
Post revealed in a recent interview with Zan Lowe that Osbourne had commented that “This is my favourite [thing] I’ve done since, you know, Sabbath. Since I started my own way.’”

Given Osbourne’s nearly made it through what he refers to as “the most fucked up year of my life“, it’s incredibly inspiring to see the artist continue to push his creative boundaries.
This recent exposure to the pop world for Osbourne comes right after a shitload of Taylor Swift fans found out who the hell Tool was this past week, with the band’s progressive opus dethroning the pop mega-star at the top of the Billboard charts.
