Adelaide three piece synth-pop outfit THANES have dropped a new clip for their debut single ‘Strange Harmony’, full of dark undertones,’80s basslines, and various other modern age electro-sounds.

‘Strange Harmony’ has the feel that it could have been plucked straight out of the underground rave scene of Cold War era Berlin. Combining a dark synth sound with a post-punk attitude, THANES have resparked the flames of a genre gone but definitely not forgotten.

With a video filmed by students from Adelaide’s Flinders University, THANES have put together an impressive clip that looks and feels like a gothic horrorshow from outer space – damn good work on debut.

THANES’ last gig of the year will be at a show celebrating 30 years of The Smiths The Queen is Dead, playing a range of heavily-deconstructed interpretations of the band’s work alongside an array of other Adelaide talent. Should be a fun one!
