Late last year we were smitten with Melbourne producer and multi-instrumentalist Lucianblomkamp’s captivating single ‘Comfort’. Both spacious and delicate, ‘Comfort’ is just a taste of his upcoming record titled Bad Faith (set for release sometime this year via Good Manners Records).
Ahead of the LP release, Lucian has been busy playing both Let Them Eat Cake, Melbourne Music Week and Strawberry Fields festivals.
Today is Lucian is unveiling the fresh version of the ‘Comfort’ reworked by Sydney talent Marcus Whale, who as well as being a solo talent is a part of local icons Black Vanilla and Collarbones (the latter of the two are performing as part of Good Manners Weekly at Boney on on 22nd January).
The four and a half minute track is moody rolling journey into the dark, groove-laden creative mind of Whale. Reinterpreting Lucian’s vision, this ‘Comfort’ remix channels steely cool underground techno with Church With No Magic era PVT vocals and beat breaks.
Having also recently signed to Good Manners Records, Whale will be unveiling an album later in the year which – if his latest solo release ‘If (demo)’ is anything do go by – promises to be a real treat.
if you want to catch him live, Whale will be supporting LA experimental collective Health on their upcoming Laneway sideshows this February.
