2020 is shaping up to be a big one for Sydney rockers Marvell, who have just unleashed their second single of the year, with the clip for ’19 Homes’ arriving today.

Ever since Marvell first hit the scene a few years back, they’ve been serving as living proof that rock music is still alive and well amongst local bands. Citing the likes of Kings Of Leon, the Foo Fighters, and Australian Crawl as influences, the New South Wales quintet perfectly encapsulate that stadium-ready sound, all while keeping themselves rooted in the Aussie sound that helped mould them.

Releasing their debut self-titled EP back in 2016, they followed it up with the likes of Living At 52 in 2018. However, while a few singles from the latter arrived in 2019, it wasn’t until March that folks received some fresh tracks, with ‘Brainwash’ welcoming them back into the fold.

Now, it’s clear they’ve been getting a bit antsy to let their fans hear more of what they’ve been working on, with the group sharing ’19 Homes’ ahead of its official release on Friday.

Recorded with award-winning producer and composer Jan Skubiszewski (John Butler, Dan Sultan) out at Red Moon Studios in the Macedon Ranges, ’19 Homes’ perfectly showcases the sound that Marvell have carefully curated and refined over the last few years.

With a big, boisterous sound that shows influences of both indie heartland rock, and is reminiscent of those massive arena rock shows we all so desperately miss, ’19 Homes’ is loose and raucous, yet refined and controlled enough to show that Marvell are the sort of group who love to get rowdy, but won’t lost control of the situation.

To make things even better, the Sydneysiders have now offered up a music video for their new tune, directed by Tom Muir, and produced by Daniel Pollock. A slick pairing that sees an open house turned into a house party, it serves as a reminder of the way things were only a few months back, and leaves eager to do it all again in the near future.
