‘Like This’ is the first release from Al Parkinson since her self-titled EP which she released in late 2011. Carefully and beautifully built upon delicate layers of strings, Al’s signature strum of the ukulele holds it steady – as her warm honeyed vocals soar and breathe, in all the right places.
It’s about those moments when someone makes your day go “from like this, to like this” – and Al, true to her style, captures the simple sentiment with an honest elegance that will leave you feeling, well.. Like this.
The concept of the file clip Directed by Edwin Tejoz, in Al’s words is “colourful, beautiful walls with colourful beautiful people in front of them”. The clip gives an insight into Al’s relaxed and playful personality starring people in her life that make her feel like the song suggests.
Al is launching her single on Saturday the 17th of May in an intimate setting at The Aviary recording Studio & Creative Hub in Abbottsford with special guest, James Kenyon. Tickets are extremely limited, available through TryBooking.com
