I AM D first turned heads at the recipient of the highly coveted APRA AMCOS Hilltop Hoods initiative back in 2014, an annual grant given to a homegrown hip-hop talent to help them take their career to the next level.

He now returns to once again act as the bridge between the ’90s golden era of hip-hop and the ever-evolving sound of modern Aussie rap. The video for new single ‘Girls In The City’ once again displays his unique voice and elusive style.

This inescapably catchy tune is the first single to be lifted from the young rhyme-slinger’s eagerly anticipated new EP, titled Hands Tied To The Sky, which is set for release on Monday, 29th June and is sure to generate plenty of interest.

Readers can check out the video for ‘Girls In The City’ below, which featured I AM D himself wandering the streets of Brisbane to find out what the girls in the city think of his latest tune – a concept as bold and tongue-in-cheek as his lyrics.
