Today Melbourne’s spirited and evolving singer songwriter Shelley Segal is releasing her brand new video for the socially charged single ‘Sidelined’ (set for release April 17th).

Segal describes the message behind her new single “the song is my understanding of the nature of our aesthetics while questioning whether we can overcome them,”

Inspired by the song’s theme, the clip for Sidelined sees the progression of Shelley starting off completely unmade in bed, to having herself immaculately styled and groomed. “Subscribing to the visual expectations of others can vastly improve our outcomes, but those that don’t fit will often pay a price or be sidelined.”

Taken from her forth studio release, titled Strange Feeling, set for release on May 8, Segal will celebrate the launch of her new releases with shows at The Paris Cat on April 18, Northcote Social Club on May 30 and the Caravan Music Club on May 24.

Upcoming Shows

SUN 24 MAY | CARAVAN MUSIC CLUB | MELB
SAT 30 MAY | THE NORTHCOTE SOCIAL CLUB | MELB
