Melbourne director/diva Tanzer is today unveiling the ridiculously fun retro clip for her new single ‘Johnny’.

Bringing together a collective of Melbourne’s most fabulous queer performers and creatives, they’ve concocted a cinematic new three minutes that sweeps us back in time to an alternate universe 1960s.

Drawing inspiration from iconic John Waters’ films, then infused with Tanzer’s own local take – think Hairspray set in Brunswick – it’s one of the most enthralling local clips we’ve seen all year.

Tanzer will be launchin her debut EP Four Love Songs by Tanzer on heart-shaped, scarlet glitter vinyl at The Toff in Town on Saturday May 28th, with Melbourne’s most magical stars of music, drag and otherworldly performance assembled to celebrate! Swing by Tanzer’s Facebook page for more info.
