Acclaimed Sydney all-rounder SA.MAY is back with a brand new single, sharing the clip for the mesmerising ‘Easier’ today.

If ever there was a fitting time for Sydney’s SA.MAY to release new music, it’s definitely right now. Having released her debut EP back in 2017, the accomplished musician has spent much of the following years working on some stunning musical ideas.

Now, she’s back with ‘Easier’, a soulful, breezy number that flows through you as it slowly builds to its immersive chorus.

Recorded at home before being mixed byRyan Millar (Illy) and mastered by Andrew Edgson (Matt Corby, Amy Shark) at Studios 301, the arrival of ‘Easier’ is quite fitting, with its lyrics speaking of endless repetition – much like many of have experienced in quarantine.

“‘Easier’ is about a time in my life where I felt I was living every day in repeat, working in a job I hated stuck in a loop and it wasn’t until I quit my job that I felt free and everything felt easier,” SA.MAY says of the track.

The theme follows in the music video, which tracks the monotony of quarantine and the loneliness, paranoia, and mundanity that follows in such a time.

“I made the video based on being stuck in quarantine feeling like everyday is the same, I feel a lot of people around the world can relate to this right now,” SA.MAY continues. “With everything that is going on, I wanted to get the message out there that it does get easier.

“The process behind making easier started with a guitar loop, I came up with the first verse and chorus vocals recorded in my bedroom and added in a drum beat behind.”

While ‘Easier’ isn’t out officially until Friday, May 29th, you can check out the clip below in order to help make the wait until the end of the week a little… easier.
