Presidents Of The United States of America’s debut album finally gets vinyl release

Presidents Of The United States of America‘s eponymous debut album is finally getting a widespread vinyl release. The vinyl release celebrates the 25th anniversary of the album, which features the band’s iconic hits “Lump” and “Peaches”.

In true PUSA fashion, the vinyl press is available exclusively through Kickstarter, with the band hoping to avoid dealing with labels and red tape. Rather than have fans buy the record outright, the band are asking for Kickstarter pledges

“Involving a label again is kind of the opposite of what we want moving forward,” the band wrote in a statement.

“Kickstarter gives us the chance to bring this directly to you, and (also important) figure out how many of you are interested in having one of these hot slabs of wax!”

With the golden age of the CD looming, PUSA’s debut album only merited a limited vinyl release back in 1995. Copies of that release are, and will probably continue to be, extremely sought after.

The new release is a white press vinyl with stylish green and bronze marbling. The record also comes with a poster, which the band jokes “you can take right down to your local tattoo shop and say ‘please put this across my back!'”

What’s more, the more money fans pledge to the band’s Kickstarter, the more merch they’ll receive. In fact, the band designed a range of new goodies to coincide with the vinyl release. These include an enamel pin and a newly designed t-shirt.
