One of the most anticipated albums of the year has finally landed. With so much controversy and drama recently surrounding the band, this record was definitely a make or break for the now trio.
From the outset it’s clear the line up isn’t the only change the band has made. The album layout is completely unlike any the group has ever released, with a total of 17 tracks and various interludes in between.
From the very first song, ‘Fast In My Car’, the LP has the usual rock energy Paramore are known for, but there is definitely a mature change in Hayley Williams’ vocals, giving the band a new sound.
The change in sound is signalled by ‘Now’ which has been frequenting the air waves of late. The song takes some getting used to, but after a few runs through, it’s clear the three-piece have been successful in their new direction.
It seems this band can’t keep their energy down, with the first seemingly slow track of the record ‘Daydreaming’ eventually launching into a more upbeat chorus.
The interludes are a quirky element of the album. Consisting only of a ukulele and Williams’ vocals, they’re a nice change of pace from the usual rock sound.
Other quirks include the short, fast track ‘Anklebiters’ and the giggle worthy lyrics of ‘(One Of Those) Crazy Girls’ and ‘I’m Not Angry Anymore’.

Pretty much all the tracks on this new record will please dedicated fans, and with such a success, it seems Paramore, as a trio, will be around for a long time to come.
