The world’s favourite internet meme and Youtube joke, Rick Astley, has unsurprisingly decided to ditch performing in third rate regional Christmas pantomimes in the UK and have a crack at the charts again. It’s been a long time since he graced the heady heights of chart success (ooooh, at least 20 years) but 50 million Rick Rollers can’t be wrong! He’s making a comeback of his own accord, releasing his new self penned song Lights Out, on June 7. With a video directed by UK comedian Peter Kaye (AKA Dennis Pennis), he’s realistic about his chances in the charts, but doesn’t need the success, having avoided blowing the millions he made back in the eighties on drugs and hookers, saying “It’s amazing how time flies when you haven’t got an actual job.”
